No Better Acceptance
by Charlene Potter
I run with the dog in my life,
to shed the weariness of being human.
I walk with the dog in my life,
to remember animal memories.
I play with the dog in my life,
to regain the innocence of being animal.
I share with the dog in my life,
to build on my relationship with nature.
I cry with the dog in my life,
and I am grateful for his/her presence,
no matter the length of time.

"Walk Into Water Experience A Flower"
by Charlene Potter

Walk into water experience a flower,
I walk into the water for acceleration.
I walk into the water to quince my thirst.
I walk in the water to see the flowers.
Without water there would be no flowers.

Tree Talk and Earth Rhythms
Charlene Potter
copyright 7/16/2011
The Oak Tree lives in the local park.
The neighbors planted her so many years ago.
You should see how tall she’s grown.
Earth Rhythms vibrate the Oak Tree and she’s satisfied.
Her branches move up & down, back & forth.
Some may say it’s the wind,
but, the Oak Tree knows,
only the Earth Rhythms
can tickle her leaves,
sway her limbs,
& move the fluid within her trunk.
She knows the sun rises and sets,
the wind blows,
sometimes it rains,
sometimes it’s dry, &
sometimes there’s a mist.
As the Oak tree talks to the Earth,
she thanks the Earth for giving her life, and
she thanks the Earth for the her Rhythms that sustain her life.

Weeping Willow and the Katydid

Tree Talk series
A tiny light lime green Katydid flies
into the branches of a Weeping Willow tree.
Katydid asks the Weeping Willow in a
tiny little voice, “I have flown into your branches
to see if you are crying, but there are no tears.
Why do you look sad?”
Weeping Willow replies, “Who is that?
Where is that tiny voice?”
Katydid answers, “I’m here.”
“Oh, now I see you. I am a unique tree.
No other trees are just like me.
Just like there are no other insects quite like
you, Katydid,” answers Weeping Willow.
“I believe I understand. Wow, no other insects
just like me. No, other trees, just like you,”
thinks Katydid.
The Oak tree talks to the Wind, and she says,
”Why do you blow my branches to and fro so strongly?”
And the Wind roars, “I am the Wind, I can do as I please.”
The Oak Tree cries, “I like you much better when you are a gentle wind.
My leaves rustle with the softness of your touch.”
The wind quiets and replies, “Yes, I know when to use my gentle touch.”
And the Oak Tree says, “Thank you Wind.”
And the Wind says, “I am away for today.”
‡Breeze Keep Clean and Blowing
Tree Talk Series

June 17, 2011
I float on the breeze of the morning.
The light breath of air touches my skin.
Tree branches wave on the breeze.
The Tree tells me, “I like the breeze too.”
I tell the tree, “I am content with the breeze.”
And she says, “I am green, and growing.”
The tree and I are one with the knowing.
Breeze, keep clean and blowing,
for you are the breath of the living.

Crying Trees
by Charlene Potter
Part of the series, "Tree Talk"
I am a crying tree. I am a pine tree. I am crying because I am dying.
I have a disease carried by the wind. In a little while you will not see
many of me. Do not be sad for me because
I have lived my tree life and it has been good.
Celebrate me when I’m gone.
I am the Burr Oak. The neighbors planted me when I was small
in the local park.
I am the Weeping Willow. I am not sad. This is the name Humans have given me.
I am the Maple I turn red. I bring beauty to my home.
I am the Black Walnut. I provide nut meats for animals and humans to enjoy.
The human planted me when I was just a small twig. Now, I am taller than her house.
I am the Linden tree. I have nice leaves and I am growing round.
Listen to Tree Talk, you might be surprised at what you hear.
