Artist mission statement:

To create art in an inspirational manner that includes the promotion of awareness and protection of all our natural spaces and the animals that live there.

Artist Statement:
In my art, I try to take the viewer on a metaphysical journey into nature, animals and life.  Through my art the viewer is transported to the fifth dimension of art-the next dimension of creativity. What is the fifth dimension of art? I believe the fifth dimension of art is inward, underneath the outside layer. I believe we will not advance as humans until we look beneath the outside layer of everything, human, plant, and animal to the very soul of its existence. That is not to say other layers should not be explored.

As a feeling artist, I believe that science is only one method of explaining everything. As humans, I believe we have not discovered other methods of explanation up to this point in time. As an emotional artist I have to feel what I am painting, or creating.
I believe the side of creativity and thinking of art needs to be explored to a higher degree. Also, I have used art as a tool in my daily life to overcome adversity, channel emotion, fight disease, and manage pain.

Philosophy of Art, a journey in progress

I believe philosophy of art is imagination, creativity, and passion. I believe the tools associated with art need to be explored to a higher degree. These tools of art can and should be used in all aspects of life. In the art I create, I try to take the viewer to the fifth dimension of art. What is the fifth dimension of art? We have the third dimension of art in which we can see around an object. I believe the fifth dimension of art is metaphysical, through using the mind to look beneath the outside layer. It is a process of pushing the envelope of the material, the message, the creativity of the mind, and the passion to achieve it's greatest extent. I believe as an artist, I will not advance until I explore beneath the outside layer of everything, human, plant, and animal to the very soul of it's existence on a more metaphysical journey and try to create works based on these principles. Being an emotional artist, I cannot create a feather in ceramics or paint until I experience a feather, until I understand a feather, understand it's essence.

This brings up the question why try to take art to another level? Because taking art to the fifth dimension pushes the creative mind to explore new thinking. Also, by exploring the metaphysical approach opens the door to possibilities for all types of healing and practical uses of art in our daily lives.

The imagination of art is learning to use one's imagination to formulate ideas and projects. The passion of art is allowing the energy to flow into the piece. I believe the passion for the message, the material, and the subject can be transferred to the viewer. An artist may choose one on which to focus the passion, or may use all three.

In art, I like to see the imagination, creativity, and passion of the piece. I like to allow the piece to take my mind to that other perspective, that I may not have achieved on my own.

Also, in most art I tend to create the more delicate design of art.  I don't want to label my art masculine or feminine.  Because the masculine or feminine can be both strong, delicate and have beauty at the same time.

Night Rhythms of the Earth

 by Charlene Potter

Night Rhythms of the Earth I feel you.

I hear you purr, or the oceans roar.
You lull me into sleep as I sway side to side.
You pull me into dreams,
with the Rhythmic beat of your heart.
I find peace in your beauty.
And, I rest in the comfort of your Rhythms.
